Republic of Ireland international, Megan Campbell, has signed for Everton. The Blues have acquired the seasoned 30-year-old defender, who is capable of playing as a centre-half or at left-back.
Campbell now joins Courtney Brosnan and Heather Payne, who are already at the club. The Irish star has made 47 appearances for the Girls in Green and has previously played for Everton's crosstown rivals, Liverpool.
"I'm delighted to be here," Campbell told evertonfc.com. "It's a different challenge for me, coming into the WSL with a new team, and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, I can thrive in the blue of Everton, and I’m confident it can be a successful season for the team.
"Last season, the squad did very well under Brian and proved they can go places under his leadership. This season can be another step in that process. I want to come in, enjoy the experience, and hopefully help the team where I can. I am a senior player. I have played in the WSL and against top internationals, so I want to support my teammates wherever I can and make an impact too."

On his latest signing, boss Sorensen added that Campbell's experience will be a significant boost ahead of the new Women's Super League season: “We are delighted to welcome Megan to the Club. She is a player rich in experience both domestically and internationally with Ireland.
"Heading into the new season, we wanted to add some experience to our group, and Megan ticks every box in that department. We are pleased to have Megan at Everton, and I look forward to working with her this season.”
Campbell could make her Everton debut against Brighton & Hove Albion. The game starts at 1pm on Sunday.
