Mayo GAA has paid tribute to Róisín Cryan, fiancée of Mayo football star Conor Loftus, after she tragically passed away over the weekend.
The 28-year-old’s body was recovered from the River Moy in Ballina on Saturday morning. As a result, the All-Ireland club IFC final between Loftus’s Crossmolina Deel Rovers and Ballinderry in Croke Park was postponed.
Mayo GAA, in an X post, said they were deeply saddened by the news and offered their condolences to the family.
"Mayo GAA is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Róisín Cryan, Carrick-on-Shannon. We would like to offer our sincere sympathies to Conor, the Cryan and Loftus families, Róisín’s extended family, and friends during this difficult time," said the X post.
