Man City slip up in title race while late goals earn Solskjaer share of the spoils

LIVERPOOL have the chance to move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League after Manchester City lost their fourth game of the season.

Pep Guardiola’s side got off to the best possible start against Newcastle when Sergio Aguero scored after 24 seconds at St James’ Park.

However the home side levelled through Salomon Rondon on 66 minutes, before taking the lead through a Matt Ritchie penalty with 10 minutes to go.

The result brings City’s eight-game winning streak to an end, a run that saw them score 33 goals and concede just two.

Liverpool will move seven points ahead of City if they can beat struggling Leicester at Anfield tomorrow.

Manchester United meanwhile dropped their first points under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they drew with Burnley.

However Paul Pogba scored his sixth league goal in as many games from the penalty spot on 87 minutes, before defender Victor Lindelof scrambled in his first goal for the club in the 92nd minute.
