Lowry confirmed for 2025 Irish Open to be held at K Club

Ireland's Shane Lowry has confirmed that he will be participating in the Amgen Irish Open, to be held at the K Club next year.

Lowry, who won the event in 2009 and finished tied for third last year, will play at the famous Kildare course from September 4–7, 2025.

The Clara native became the first amateur to win the event and remains the most recent player to claim victory on the DP World Tour before turning professional.

Ten years later, Lowry became a Major Champion, securing the Claret Jug after winning The 148th Open at Royal Portrush.

In a statement this week, Lowry expressed his excitement about playing at the renowned course next year and also his ambition to lift the trophy again: “There’s no better feeling than playing on home soil, and I’m already so excited for next year’s Amgen Irish Open,” said Lowry.

“I say it all the time, but the Irish fans truly are the best in the world. They are incredibly welcoming and respectful of all the golfers taking part in the tournament, not just those from Ireland.

“I’ve had some strong performances in the event over the last few years and would love nothing more than to get my hands on that trophy again.”

The K Club, which hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup, will also serve as the venue for the 2027 tournament.
