LONDON Irish players reported to Hazelwood for the commencement of pre-season training this morning (Wednesday).
New Head Coach Tom Coventry is due to arrive in London on July 13 ahead of what promises to be an interesting campaign for the Exiles.
Rob Palmer will oversee a strength and conditioning programme as London Irish prepare for upcoming friendly fixtures against Munster in Cork on August 28 and Harlequins at the Stoop on September 25 and October 2.
A London Irish spokesperson confirmed to The Irish Post that Coventry will arrive in the middle of this month. “Tom Coventry is due to arrive on July 13. Before then all the players will report as normal for pre-season training which starts on July 1.
“Eoin Griffin, who played for the Emerging Ireland team this summer isn’t due to be back until July 20 while those involved in the World Cup won’t be available until the tournament is over.
“Grant Doorey will be here for pre-season, while Clark Laidlaw is expected to arrive before the end of the month following the completion of the Super Rugby season.”
The Aviva Premiership season is due to start on the weekend ending October 16-18.
