LONDON Irish have announced the signing of scrum-half Brendan McKibbin from Super Rugby club New South Wales Waratahs on a two-year deal.
He is set to join the club for the 2015/16 season.
McKibbin has made 63 appearances for the Waratahs in the competition and was part of the side that lifted the Super Rugby title last season.
“I am delighted to be joining the club. I spoke at length with Bob Casey and I am looking forward to be a part of the set up," he said.
"The facilities are hugely impressive and I’m really excited by the direction the club is looking to go in."
Operations director Bob Casey hailed the new arrival as a leader “on and off the pitch”.
Casey said: "Brendan is a top class player and a real leader on and off the field. We have plenty of quality in the scrum-half position and Brendan joining will only strengthen that competition. He has a great work rate, comes from a winning environment and knows what it takes to win trophies."
McKibbin will be the third new arrival at Hazelwood next season following deals for World Cup winner Ben Franks and British & Irish Lion Sean Maitland.
