WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee is expected to fight Billy Joe Saunders at Thomond Park on September 19.
A newspaper report in The Herald suggests that the Limerick venue will host this eagerly anticipated fight.
It is rumoured that Lee’s trainer Adam Booth has convinced promoter Frank Warren to bring the bout to Ireland.
Lee recently drew with Peter ‘Kid Chocolate’ Quillin in New York which was a non-title fight after the American failed to make the weight.
With 34 wins and one draw from 37 bouts Lee has repeatedly stated his dream to be involved in a World title fight in Limerick.
Saunders, the highly rated 25 year old, has won all of his 21 professional clashes.
