Limerick Senior Hurling manager John Kiely has said the claims around Limerick gamesmanship are 'utterly laughable'
The three-in-a-row All-Ireland champions reached another final last Saturday after the Treaty county overcame Galway by 1-18 to 0-6 in their semi-final.
However during the game, Limerick's goalkeeper Nickie Quaid needed treatment during the game, which resulted in the end of Galway's momentum. The Tribesman were six points up, but Limerick from that point on took control and cruised into the another final.
Opposition manager Henry Shefflin protested on the sideline during the stoppage and took issue with the amount of time afforded to Quaid during the game.
It is not the first time that Limerick have been accused of gamesmanship, with the All-Ireland champions being accused of' 'choosing their moments' during games.
Kiely laughed off the suggestion at a press event and claimed they were 'ridiculous'
“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that we’re talking about this two days after two All-Ireland semi-finals,” said Kiely on Monday.
“It’s utterly laughable, to be quite honest with you. It’s unbelievable.
“I’m not privy to Nickie’s medical history. Can you imagine me going to him, ‘What’s your sight like, Nickie?’https://t.co/42C0z9C4m8

“Of course, it’s a focus that has been driven by a few individuals but I find it absolutely crazy that we’re talking about this two days after an All-Ireland semi-final.”
Kiely was asked if Quaid’s issue was related to contact lenses.
“I’m not privy to Nickie’s medical history,” he retorted. “Can you imagine me going to Nickie, ‘What’s your sight like, Nickie?’ Would you seriously think I’d be doing such a thing like that? Absolutely not," he added.
“Number one, I will highlight, who called in the doctor to Nickie? James Owens, the referee. So I’d say go and ask James Owens.
“Why did James Owens (do that)? Because his umpire expressed concern to James Owens about Nickie, because Nickie wasn’t feeling well. That’s what happened. Fact.
“Obviously these people that are commenting online don’t know the facts so I think the facts are very important.”
Limerick play Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final on Sunday, July 23.
