Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager launches fresh attack on Conor McGregor

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV'S manager reignited the ongoing war of words between the Russian and his UFC 229 opponent Conor McGregor.

Nurmagomedov courted controversy in the immediate aftermath of his victory over the Irishman by vaulting over the Octagon to attack McGregor's team.

Three of the Russian's entourage were then caught on camera attacking McGregor inside the ring, in chaotic scenes unfolded at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Both Nurmagomedov and McGregor could now face sanctions from the UFC over the incident, which reflected badly on the sport.

However, that hasn't stopped Nurmagomedov's manager, Ali Abdelaziz from launching a fresh attack on the Irishman.

Abdelaziz wrote: "I want to congratulate my brother @khabib_nurmagomedov the undisputed, undefeated pound-for-pound King.

"There was never 2 Kings from beginning, only one King."

He wasn't finished there though, turning his attention to McGregor.

"This is not the way we want to celebrate such a dominant performance but when you talk about people's country, family and religion and intentionally try to kill someone like he said and the cornermen running their mouths after, this is the fight game & s**t happens," he said.

"The fans got an amazing fight and a great show. I want to apologize to the Nevada athletic commission, the Governor of Nevada and I want to thank Las Vegas police department and security for doing such an unbelievable job.

"Now everyone understands who's the amateur here."

The comments echoed those of Nurmagomedov, who used his post-match press conference to call for more efforts to be made to make the UFC "a respectful sport."

"This is not a trash-talking sport. I want to change this game," he said.

"You cannot talk about religions and nations. This for me is very important."

Despite some suggestions McGregor could be tempted by a move into the WWE, the Notorious is already calling for a rematch on Twitter.
