Robbie Keane has been appointed manager of Hungarian giants Ferencváros today after reports and rumours emerged he was about to land the role.
The Tallaght native recently spent 18 months in charge of the Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv. During his tenure with the Israeli club, Keane guided them to the last 16 of the Europa Conference League, secured a league title, and lifted the Toto Cup before stepping down last June.
Keane, a former Republic of Ireland international, has also held coaching roles with the Irish national team, Middlesbrough, and Leeds United.
Earlier today, Gábor Kubatov, the president of Ferencváros (FTC), revealed in a video uploaded to his official social media pages that the club had a new head coach but did not initially name Keane as the successor.

"So, the question is, do we have a new coach? We do. Announcement coming soon. Come on, Fradi!" said Kubatov. Keane has now been confirmed as the new boss.
A statement on the club's website read: "We announce the successor to Dutchman Pascal Jansen to lead our 35-time champion and 24-time cup winner team, as the 146-time national team player of the Republic of Ireland, Robbie Keane, has signed on Monday. The new head coach arrived in Budapest on Sunday evening and will leave on Tuesday to join our team at the training camp in Spain."
Ferencváros is currently competing in the Europa League and is set to face AZ Alkmaar in a fortnight. They sit second in the domestic league and had been without a manager since Pascal Jansen left for MLS club New York City FC.
