KATIE Taylor will fight on the undercard of Andy Lee’s title defence against Billy Joe Saunders at Thomond Park on September 19.
WBO world middleweight champion Lee had specifically requested the Olympic champion to take part in the event, and co-promotor Adam Booth has granted the Limerick man his wish.
It is not yet known who Taylor will fight, but the bout will be used as a warm-up fight for February’s AIBA World Elite Women’s Championships in Kazakhstan.
That event will double up as qualifiers for the Olympics in Rio next summer, with Taylor hoping to add another medal to her haul as the current Irish, European, World and Olympic 60kg champion.
Lee, meanwhile, hopes to defend his title in his hometown of Limerick against unbeaten Saunders, who is the mandatory challenger.
