Katie McCabe is the WSL Player of the Month for October.

ARSENAL's KATIE McCabe is the WSL Player of the Month for October.

The Dubliner has been in fine form for her club side, Arsenal, are top of the table with five wins from five.

McCabe has operated in a number of posistion for Arsenal, notably at left-back and left-wing. She has scored screamers against Aston Villa and Everton

Her versatility for both club and country this season have made the Irish captain a valubale asset for both.

Jonas Eidevall, the Arsenal boss has used the 26-year-old as full-back and winger on the left side for Arsenal, and for Republic of Ireland manager Vera Pauw plays her as a left wing-back.

Arsenal also reached the FA Cup final with McCabe last week with victory over Brighto, Chelsea await

Her performances have impressed Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who said McCabe is his favourite player on the Arsenal team right now.

I have to say at the moment it is probably Katie McCabe at left-back.

“She's one of those players you don't get less than eight out of from 10 from her.

“She gets on with her game flies into tackles, great footballer great crosses, scoring great goals. I'm loving Katie McCabe.”

McCabe and the side play West Ham next, have notched up a combined tally of seven WSL goals and five assists for their club so far this term.

Their team have lost just once in 13 games in all competitions this term falling to a 4-1 defeat in a Champions League group stage clash with Barcelona.

McCabe joins Republic of Ireland at the end of the month for the Slovakia and Georgia games with Ireland looking to build on their 2-1 win away to Finland.
