REPUBLIC of Ireland winger James McClean has agreed to sponsor his old GAA club in Derry.
Sean Dolans GAC have been struggling to make ends meet since an arson attack burnt down their clubhouse in 2011.
However, West Brom player McClean – who used to play for Sean Dolans – has agreed of provide the club with a steady income by funding a sponsor for their shirt.
"It makes our task of rebuilding the club a hell of a lot easier when we have the likes of James to support us,” club member Danny Cassidy told the Derry Daily. "James is a credit to the Creggan area and is a real friend of Sean Dolans GAC."
A club statement added: "The club would like to thank former Sean Dolan's player James McClean for offering to sponsor a new team kit for the senior team. Fair play James for not forgetting your roots and thanks very much."
