JAMES McCLEAN has taken a cheeky swipe at the people of Sunderland to round off his latest social media spat.
After having his credentials questioned by Sunderland player Lamine Kone in the wake of West Brom’s 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light, as below, McClean bided his time with a response.
We deserved better (again) yesterday. But we finally did a clean sheet. ?⚪️
By the way, who is James McClean? ?? pic.twitter.com/rAbjC8Yg5G— Lamine Koné (@LamineKone_23) April 3, 2016
Having then been alerted to a picture of himself flooring his opponent during the match, the Republic of Ireland player responded to Kone’s "who is James McClean?" question by saying the "guy that put you on your backside big fella".
The guy that put you on your backside big fella @laminekone_23, some say your still laying there ??

Of course, that didn’t sit too well with fans of Sunderland, McClean’s former club, with almost 600 Instagram users commenting on his post, most of which took exception.
Never one to shy away from a backlash, McClean then goaded the Black Cats faithful with this priceless picture of his smug reaction to being jeered outside the Stadium of Light, complete with a sly dig at the locals.
