A London-based Irish company have organised a 26-mile canoeing challenge across the Thames to raise money for Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (SANDS) this weekend.
Employees of Foran Construction, based in the Brentford area of the city, will commence the challenge from George and Dragon in Wargate on Friday with a 13-mile journey.
They will then complete the second 13-mile leg of the challenge on Saturday, finishing up in Windsor.
The company have already raised over £1,300 ahead of their frundraising night in the New Inn, Brentford, where live music and a raffle will take place on Saturday night.
All proceeds will go to SANDS, who support anyone affected by the death of a baby. They also work in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care, while also funding research that could help to reduce the number of families affected by stillbirth and neonatal death.
