OVER THE weekend the Ireland Women's Sevens squad managed to finish with a third-place finish at the Canada Sevens.
This was their second podium finish of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens after finishing second in Seville after beating Australia 17-12.

How Bronze was won
The Ireland women's sevens team began their Langford campaign with group stage wins over Japan and Brazil, before losing out to the French.
Ireland started their Seven's series adventure with wins against Japan and Brazil, before being bested by the French.
Ireland progressed to the quarterfinals and met the USA, which they came on top with a 17-14 scoreline.
Ireland lost 26-5 to eventual winners Australia in the semi-finals, which meant the French stood in the way of a Bronze medal for Aiden McNulty's side.
Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe was the star of the tournament and finished it as top try scorer with 12.
The Tipperary native became the first Irish woman to score four tries in a World Series match and the first Irish player male or female to score more than 10 tries in a World Series tournament, when Ireland beat France 22-14.
The third place finish is impressive after the controversy of the Six Nations departures last month.
Ireland lost the likes of 15's players Beibhinn Parsons, Lucy Mulhall, Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe, Stacey Flood, Eve Higgins, Brittany Hogan and Anna McGann to the event in Langford
Ireland lie fifth in the World Series standings ahead of the final leg in Toulouse on the 22nd of May.
