Jack Taylor, a former U21 international for the Republic of Ireland, has officially signed a three-year contract with Ipswich Town. The 25-year-old midfielder made the transfer from Peterborough United to the Championship club, although the specific fee remains undisclosed.
Other reports have claimed an initial fee of €1.74 million, with further cash due to Peterborough if Ipswich achieves promotion to the top flight.
Taylor's impressive performances throughout the season with Peterborough earned him a call-up to the senior Ireland squad for the recent European qualifiers. Having represented his country seven times at the U21 level, Taylor's consistent display in all 46 League One matches played for Peterborough's season played a significant role in his promotion to Stephen Kenny's senior squad.
"I'm over the moon to sign here," Taylor said on the club's website. "I've spoken to the manager on numerous occasions, and I haven't heard a bad word about him. I think the style of play really suits my game, and I can't wait to get the ball rolling."
Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna added, "We're delighted to have Jack in, and he is a player who fits the culture we're continuing to build here. He is hungry and wants to improve, and he will bring qualities that add to the group."

Peterborough boss and Dublin native Darragh MacAnthony also had a say on Taylor's move. MacAnthony took to social media to tell clubs they had missed a trick by not signing the talented footballer. The Dubliner believes that the Ireland startlet can propel Ipswich out of the Championship and into the Premier League.
"It was the right deal for Jack," MacAnthony said in a video on social media. "It was the right deal for our club, and I agreed 36 hours ago on the final fee, the final bits and pieces. It's an incredible deal for us, it's a great deal for Jack, and we wish him well.
"To all those mugs in the Championship who didn't come in for him, you've f---ed up, like you did with the Ivan Toney deal a couple of years ago when you could have come in for him and you didn't.
"He is one of the best young central midfielders outside the Premier League, and I firmly believe he could propel Ipswich on a Premier League promotion run."
