Ireland WNT support GOAL Mile

The Ireland’s Women’s National Team (WNT) have given their support to the GOAL Mile ahead of their UEFA EURO 2025 play-off with Cymru.

As they bid to qualify for the European Championships for the first time—taking on Cymru in Cardiff on Friday, November 29th, before hosting the same opponent in Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, December 3rd—the squad wanted to call for public support for a cause that spans the globe.

The WNT are supporting the Goal Mile, an Irish tradition that unites communities while making a life-changing impact on vulnerable populations worldwide. In partnership with GOAL Global, the squad is urging fans to show up and participate in their local GOAL Mile, a powerful demonstration of teamwork and solidarity.

WNT captain Katie McCabe said: “On behalf of the Ireland Women’s National Team, we are happy to support GOAL with their annual GOAL Mile that helps provide much-needed help to people around the world who are affected by life-changing situations.

“As a squad, we want to use our profile in a positive way to help others as much as we can, and the Goal Mile is an initiative that shows the importance of resilience and teamwork. We hope that you can support this to provide help to those who need it most.”

Commenting on the support of the WNT, GOAL CEO Siobhan Walsh said: “We are deeply grateful to Ireland’s Women’s National Team for championing the GOAL Mile. Their teamwork and determination on the pitch inspire us all, and their support for this vital cause showcases the true spirit of sport—using unity and resilience to create a better world.

“The funds raised through the Goal Mile are a lifeline for those facing unimaginable challenges. This is more than a tradition; it’s a way to ensure GOAL can continue delivering life-saving aid where it’s needed most.”
