Ireland Cricket World Cup kit revealed

CRICKET fans have been given a glimpse of Ireland’s new kit for next month’s World Cup.

When the tournament gets underway in Australia and New Zealand, Ireland's Ed Joyce (pictured) and the rest of the squad will be sporting the eye-catching, bright-green outfits.

The new appearance of the kit is courtesy of the team’s new sponsor, Tourism Ireland, who today agreed a deal to back the Boys In Green for the six-week duration of the World Cup.

The squad’s new shirt, manufactured by O’Neill’s and with the Tourism Ireland logos on the sleeves, is a change from the darker green worn by the team in the last tournament.

Ireland will play a minimum of six matches over February and March, which will be broadcast live to a global audience of 2.5 billion in 220 countries.

They face the West Indies, the UAE, South Africa, Zimbabwe, India and Pakistan during the group stages of their third consecutive World Cup.
