MULTIPLE heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has pulled out of his October 24 fight with Tyson Fury due to a calf injury.
Fury was due a long-awaited shot at the Ukrainian, who was to put his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles on the line in Dusseldorf, Germany, next month.
And despite holding a press conference to promote the fight just two days ago, the 39-year-old champion has today confirmed he must put the bout on hold.
Both fighters have used social media to apologise to fans, many of whom will have arranged flights and accommodation for the trip, but Fury appears in good spirits according to his Twitter feed.

Klitschko, meanwhile, insists he is not pulling out of the fight altogether and claims to be "working hard on rescheduling" the date.

Fury has endured a string of withdrawals by opponents, with David Haye having twice pulled out of a fight with the 27-year-old due to a cut and a shoulder injury respectively.
The heavyweight comes from an Irish Travellers' background and many Irish fans were believed to be making their way to Germany for the fight.
