ICYMI: Munster to play All Blacks XV in November

Munster will play a New Zealand 15 when the All Blacks visit Ireland in November. The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 2, at Thomond Park (5:30 p.m.).

The All Blacks, as part of their northern hemisphere tour of Europe, will then play Ireland at Aviva Stadium on November 9. They will also face England, France, and Italy during their tour.

Munster have faced other international opponents at Thomond Park over the years, including the All Blacks, Australia, and the Māori All Blacks. Additionally, South Africa A and the Crusaders played at Cork’s SuperValu Páirc Ui Chaoimh in November 2022 and February 2024, respectively.

Speaking about the fixture, Munster Rugby CEO Ian Flanagan said, "We will be delighted to welcome the All Blacks XV to Thomond Park in November as part of their Northern Hemisphere tour. We have a long and rich history of hosting international sides, and I’m sure November’s match will add another exciting chapter to this tradition."

This match comes 46 years after Munster became the first Irish team to beat the All Blacks at old Thomond Park. The 12–0 victory took place on Tuesday, October 31, 1978, in front of a crowd of 12,000. Munster were coached by former Ireland and British and Irish Lions captain Tom Kiernan.
