Ireland's World Cup squad was selected by Andy Farrell on Sunday evening. The 33-player Irish squad will be captained by Johnny Sexton.
Cian Healy, who played in the Samoa game, has agonisingly missed the cut due to an injury he picked up during the game. Munster's Jeremy Loughman has been called up in his place. Ulster winger Jacob Stockdale has also failed to make the team, with Munster's Keith Earls securing that spot.
The rest of the squad is brimming with Rugby World Cup experience. Tadhg Furlong, Iain Henderson, Robbie Henshaw, and Peter O’Mahony are set for their third tournament. Furthermore, Bundee Aki, Tadhg Beirne, Jack Conan, Dave Kilcoyne, Andrew Porter, James Ryan, Garry Ringrose, and Josh van der Flier all participated in the Japan tournament four years ago.
