Here's how you can watch the League of Ireland this season

THE LEAGUE of Ireland returns next week, and Irish football fans around the world are naturally getting quite excited.

While it goes without saying that football without fans inside a packed stadium is nowhere near as enthralling, it still means the world to a lot of people that our national league is back in action.

Even President of Ireland Michael D Higgins is getting in the spirit!

And despite the fact fans won't be allowed in stadiums to watch the matches anytime soon, more people than ever will be able to tune into the action in some way.

The FAI recently announced the launch of a new agreement with RTÉ and WATCHLOI to broadcast matches this season.

WATCHLOI is a streaming service that was brought in as a result of Covid-19 last season, and it enables fans to purchase singular games, if that is of interest to them.

Or, if you consider yourself a hardcore fan of the League of Ireland, you can buy over 60 games from now up to the mid-season break of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division for €59.

A bargain, when you think about some of the goals that were scored last season.

While the league doesn't actually start until next Friday, you can get yourself in the mood tonight with Shamrock Rovers playing against Dundalk in the President's Cup.

This game is free to watch on WATCHLOI.
