Hearn claims Taylor v Cameron 3 may not be fought in Croke Park

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn has hinted that Katie Taylor's long-awaited fight in Croke Park may not happen there if they don't agree on a deal quickly.

Since Taylor beat Cameron in 2023, talk has quickly intensified around Taylor finally getting her fight in Ireland's 75,000-seater stadium.

Prior to Taylor's first bout against Cameron in May, where she suffered her first loss, Hearn had engaged in discussions with the GAA about hosting the event there. However, talks collapsed over security costs, leading to the fight taking place at Dublin's 3Arena.

Hearn asserted that the GAA was considering hosting costs approximately "three times the price of England's national Wembley Stadium." This claim was rebutted by GAA chiefs in a back-and-forth exchange.

To this date, Taylor v. Cameron 1 and 2 have been held at Dublin's Docklands venue, 3Arena. Taylor showed immense courage in the second fight, and the likelihood of a rematch and trilogy fight is still on the cards.

A number of venues have been touted for the third fight, including Anfield in Liverpool, the Aviva, and Croke Park, the other Dublin venue.

However, Hearn has claimed the ball needs to start rolling if Taylor is to get her fight in Croke Park. If a venue can't be found soon, then another venue will have to be chosen. This could be the 3Arena again, according to Hearn.

"Talks go on and on and on, and eventually you're in February now, and Katie's next fight is in May. So we have to make a move," said Hearn to Boxing Social.

"There is a chance we could return to the 3Arena.

"For us, we still like the idea of fighting Chantelle Cameron. We'd like to do that outdoors. You have to lock something in at some point. We've had two incredible nights at the 3Arena. It could be a third."

Taylor v. Cameron 3 could also be fought in a foreign venue. Bray native Taylor has spent most of her time fighting her opponents outside of Ireland, so it wouldn't be unfair if her next fight did occur outside of Ireland.

"We've had offers from around the world," Hearn added.

"There is a chance she could fight internationally, and of course there is America.

"A fight for Katie Taylor in America is a huge thing, particularly on the east coast. She also has aspirations to fight in Las Vegas.

"You could take her to Boston, Philadelphia, or New York. She sells out everywhere. She has a lot of options."
