GOLF CLUBS belonging to Leona Maguire that earlier went missing between a flight from Dublin to Geneva have been located, according to the woman herself.
Maguire's quest for a first-ever major title in this week's Amundi Evian Championship would have been put in peril without her trusted equipment.
Maguire earlier tweeted to say that she needed help from someone at Dublin Airport or daa, as the clubs had gone missing between check-in and take-off.
"Really need help from someone @DublinAirport or DAA. Flew from Dublin to Geneva yesterday direct and somehow my golf bag has gone missing between checkin and takeoff. @FlySWISS & @swissportNews have no idea where it is. Need it urgently for @EvianChamp major this week," her tweet read.
A subsequent tweet from Maguire, however, confirmed that the clubs had been found.
She received a reply to say that someone had found the bag.
"What way can she contact your team? Or dm and I can pass her details to you," the tweet said, to which Maguire replied:
"Just spoke to a legend called Claire? Found the bag,"
Maguire, currently ranked 19th in the world, already has one top-10 finish in a major this season having come in in a tie for eighth at the Women's US Open. Her best ever result in the top events came at last year’s Evian Championship when she finished in a tie for sixth.
The event starts on Thursday, with Ireland's Stephanie Meadow also earning an invite off the back of her CME Globe points tally
