Barry Geraghty claimed his fourth win in the JCB Triumph Hurdle when guiding Peace and Co to victory at Cheltenham on Friday.
The Nicky Henderson trained horse claimed a fine success which pleased Geraghty. “That was a tough race – Ruby (Walsh) on Dicosimo set a really good gallop, which suited my fellow because he settled and jumped nicely, and I knew the longer I could hang on to him the better because he has a kick. That was why I chose him over Top Notch.
“I’d say the slower ground closed the gap between the two, but I knew Peace and Co had that one kick. There was the usual traffic, but I had the pace to go where I wanted to go and once the gap was there it worked out.
“Nicky does a brilliant job with juveniles and fillies – he minds them well, builds them up for the big meetings and looks after them to peak on the big day. Hats off to him.”
