MANCHESTER United fans marked the 10th anniversary of George Best’s death with a makeshift light display using their mobile phones at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
United drew 0-0 with PSV in their UEFA Champions League encounter, and in the seventh minute – inspired by the No.7 shirt Best famously wore for the club – fans held their illuminated phones aloft.
A new banner reading ‘Georgie…simply the Best’ was also unveiled, while fans also laid roses at Best's statue, which stands outside Old Trafford alongside Denis Law and Bobby Charlton.
