GAA want your thoughts on how to improve hurling

DO WE need more paid GAA coaches for kids? Do schools need to be funded more to provide hurling equipment for pupils? What is the most compelling aspect of hurling?

The GAA are seeking your views on these and every topic imaginable as they aim to improve the game of hurling.

By giving your views on the GAA website,  you also enter a draw to win two tickets to this season’s All-Ireland SHC final. The web link remains open until the end of June.

Hurling 2020, is a hurling forum established by GAA president Liam O’Neill, “to oversee a complete examination of hurling and to make proposals and suggestions with the intention of safeguarding the future of the game”.

Tipperary All-Ireland winning manager Liam Sheedy is chairing the forum. The other Hurling 2020 committee members are: Pat Henderson (Kilkenny), Des Cullinane (Cork), Terence “Sambo” Mc Naughton (Antrim), Ollie Moran (Limerick), Veronica Curtin (Galway), Michael Duignan (Offaly), Ollie Canning (Galway), Frank Lohan (Clare), Paul Flynn (Waterford) and Ed Donnelly (secretary, Tipperary).

O’Neill said: “People care passionately about hurling and opinions on the game and the future direction it should take are wide, varied and valued. I believe the diverse make up of the committee and the forum they have established will generate excellent feedback that we can channel positively to further enhance the game.”
