J Ffrench Underage girls Tournament: Underage ladies football and camogie in London took another huge step forward last Saturday, 13th September when Tara GFC held their first ever underage girls 7's tournament in Greenford. Kindly sponsored by Wexford man Justin Ffrench of J Ffrench Ltd, This annual tournament saw 93 girls from clubs across London and further afield taking part in competitions at U13's/U15's/U17's age groups. It was a fitting end to the underage competitions season in London which has seen the numbers participating in ladies gaelic football increase hugely. The U13 competition saw Parnell's claiming the shield, defeating Tara's, TCG's and St Claret's. Three clubs been Dulwich Harps, TCG's and Tara's competed in the U15's competition, with TCG winning the final. The U17's competition resulted in another success for the Parnell's club, defeating Claddagh Gaels, The Camogie shield was claimed by St Patrick's of Gloucester after defeating the Tara GFC. Congratulations to all four shield winners and well done to all clubs who took part. Irish Ambassador to Britain Dan Mulhall was on hand to do the presentations, and was very impressed with the standard of football played and the organisation of the tournament.

Parnells

The James O Brien Memorial Tournament: St Kiernan's hosted the James O' Brien U6/8/10'S Gaelic football Tournament on Saturday the 20th of September 2014.

Parnells were able to field teams in all age groups. As usual this was a fantastic event that enabled the younger players to put their training in to practice. The Under 6 team under the watch of coaches Johnny Clarke and Colin McGuiness certainly gave it their all with many attempts at point scoring and lots of laughter. The Under 8s worked hard and showed that the seasons training is paying off, this age group are really finding their feet now and look to have a bright future ahead. Parnells put in 3 Under 10 teams and all 3 teams performed well. Team A reached the semi final of the Cup but were narrowly beaten by a strong St Kiernan's side who went on to beat TCG in the Final and took the winning title.

Teams B & C crossed each others path with a Parnells V Parnells final of the Shield, a sure win for Parnells youth and another trophy for the cabinet. Well done to all the Players and coaches involved, a fantastic triumph as for many of these players this was there first competitive tournament.  Well done and thank you to Declan Ryan and St Kiernans for an enjoyable day.
