London Youth

The next meeting London Youth Committee meeting will take place on Monday October 20 at 8 30pm at The Emerald GAA Grounds at Ruislip. Meetings will continue to be held on the third Monday of every month. Results: U16’s game Dulwich Harps 6-08 to Tara 2-07. James O’ Brien Tournament: St Kiernan’s club were hosts to the James O’ Brien Tournament for U6’s/8’/10’s at their home ground in Mill Hill on Saturday, September 20. It was a great day where the rain just about held off. Some fantastic skills were shown in games in all age groups. Well done to all the children from the various clubs who attended. The James O’ Brien U10 Cup semi-finals were great games, where Tara’s were narrowly beaten by TCG and St Kiernan’s defeated Parnell’s A. In the Cup final, St Kiernan’s beat TCG to win the James O’ Brien cup.

In the U10 Shield final, Parnell’s club came head-to-head with Parnell’s Gold played Parnell’s Green in the final with Parnell’s Green winning the Shield. A big thanks to the hosts St Kiernan’s who did a wonderful job as always providing food for the children followed by presentations. Thanks to all the referees and also to the parents for their continued support throughout the year as it is much appreciated. Diary dates: Provisional U14 Conrad Ryan Tournament on Oct 18. The U18 clubs will have the opportunity to play in the Hertfordshire Cup on Sunday 19th of October. The times and venue are TBC. Y6 Schools tournament in Greenford on Thursday October 23. The London Youths Presentation night will be held on Friday, November 7 at Emerald GAA Grounds at Ruislip. St Clarets GFC

The club’s annual dinner dance will take place on Saturday, November 1 at the recently-refurbished West Middlesex Golf Club with music by the Craicheads. The evening starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £40. Contact a committee member for details. One of our club sponsors, Ye Olde Crowne, Hayes is hosting a funding raising evening for Hillingdon Autistic Care and Support www.hacs.org.uk on Saturday, October 11. The event is to be a ‘Stars in their Eyes’ night. Irish in Britain are teaming up with Mind Yourself to raise money to support our Dementia and Mental health programmes through our All Ireland Run for your County. Tara Youths

Well done to all the U6/8/10’s who played in the James O’ Brien Tournament which was hosted by St Kiernan’s Club in Mill Hill on Saturday September 20. Congratulations to the Shield winners Parnell’s and to The Cup Winners St Kiernan’s. Tara U16: U16 Tara team were defeated by Dulwich Harps in a Championship game with a final result of Tara 2-07 to Dulwich Harps 6-08.

On Sunday, October 19th Tara GFC will host their annual presentation evening at Kingsbury Football Club, off Townsend Lane, Kingsbury, NW9 7NE. Doors will open at 5pm with presentations at 5.30pm sharp. The club will be making presentations to all players from U6/U8/U10/U12/U14/U16 and Girls team. Awards for Player of the Year and Most Improved Player of the Year will be presented on the night. There will also be a raffle so any donations bottles/sweets/chocolates would be greatly appreciated. Ladies Notes: Ladies training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays in West Ham. Ladies are world champions after winning international section at the Sevens on Saturday. They lost Semi Finals of the All Ireland. Their British Final is Saturday the 4th of October against Liverpool Wolfe Tones in Birmingham at 2.30pm. Good luck to all involved. Minor Notes: Under Sixteens lost to a very good Parnell’s in the League Final on Saturday. Well done to all players involved.
