Warwickshire GAA

The 2014 season came to a close with the Annual Convention at Páirc Na hÉireann. President Aiden Flynn (O’Rahillys) thanked all the hard-working volunteers who, week in week out, manage in the best part to put teams on the pitch and thanked referees for making our games possible and his fellow offices for the work both seen and unseen.

Michael Collins (John Mitchels Hurling) gave his Chairman’s address and had unfortunately to start on a negative note commenting on the poor discipline of a small number of members regarding side-line abuse towards referees. He said mentors must take responsibly of their supporters and insure their players abide by the rules of the Association as breaches have and will be dealt with firmly.

Paddy Hoey (Roger Casements) addressed the Convention and echoed Michael’s comments regarding discipline.

Martin Grogan (Roger Casements) presented at the meeting the accounts for the year of the County Board and Social Club, which showed an increase. After a short discussion relating to expenditure regarding club house improvements the accounts where accepted.
