THE fifth annual GAA All-Britain Competition got under way today at the home of Tir Chonaill Gaels in Greenford with hundreds of primary school children from across Britain taking part.
The ABC will continue over the next three days with around 2,000 children expected to participate.
The Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cups will be in attendance throughout the four days and special guests include GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghaíl and Director of Games Pat Daly.
The ABC continues on Friday morning with secondary schools taking part before the ABC Go Games (Under 8s and Under 10s) get underway in the afternoon. Under 12s to Under 18s will participate on Saturday and Sunday.
Provincial Council of Britain GAA Chair Sean Hackett said “The Provincial Council of Britain GAA is delighted to welcome our young Gaels from across the country to the Tir Chonaill Gaels Grounds in Greenford for this year’s All-Britain Competition,”
“It is an honour and a privilege for us to have an event of this magnitude here in Britain and it is a fantastic tribute to all the great work that is going on at grassroots level within the Province that the ABC continues to go from strength to strength each year."
