Fox News reporter defends slur on Rory McIlroy

THE woman who made headlines across the world yesterday for a slur on Rory McIlroy has appeared on camera once more – but to defend her comments.

Fox News presenter Lisa ‘Kennedy’ Montgomery shocked golf fans around the world, when she was heard refer to the Co. Down world number one as a “leprechaun”.

She was heard saying “I can’t stand him – he’s a leprechaun”, just as the camera cut back to studio while the Fox News team was discussing McIlroy’s injured ankle that could keep him out of the Open Championships next week.

In this new appearance, she decided not to apologise for her actions but to defend what she said.

She also took time to explain exactly why she is not a fan of McIroy.

“I love sports, I love golf, but I am not a fan of Rory’s,” she said. “Mostly for the way he treated tennis great Caroline Wozniacki and discarded her like a piece of chewed gum when he broke her heart and broke off their engagement in a short phone conversation. That’s worse than breaking up on a Post-it."

“I called Rory McIlroy a leprechaun and believe me I wanted to call him much worse,” she added.
