THREE IRISH provinces have players on the United Rugby Championship's Dream Team for the 2021/22 season.

Munster's second row Jean Kleyn and scrumhalf Craig Casey, Leinster's outhalf Ross Byrne, and Ulster's James Hume and Nick Timoney make the team.

Hume made his debut for Ireland against Wales in February and earned a second cap in the win over Italy.

Timoney's form for Ulster this season saw him earn a second Ireland cap against Argentina in November when he came on as a replacement and he was also part of Andy Farrell's Six Nations squad.

Kleyn scored three tries in 15 games for Munster this season.

Surprisingly enough Byrne is Leinster's only entry despite Leo Cullen's side being so dominant, but that is mainly due to the the amount of rotation from the Cullen.

The team is made up of only Irish and South African sides. South African teams have five players on the team.

The URC Dream Team was voted for by a media panel.

Players had to have made a minimum of nine appearances to be considered, with the media panel given a shortlist of 10 players per position, provided by URC StatMaster. The player with the most votes in each position earned a place in the team.

Next-Gen Star of the Season will be announced later this week before Vodacom Fans’ Player of the Season, the Loch Lomond Coach of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season are revealed in the build-up to the Grand Final.
