Mike Solan Becomes the Longford Senior Football Manager

Former All-Ireland Under-21 winning manager Mike Solan will become the next Longford boss. Solan has been given a three-year term with Longford.

The decision was ratified by the Longford Executive Committee at a meeting this week.

The new Longford boss replaces the recently departed Paddy Christie in the role.

Solan is best remembered for leading Mayo to the U-21 All-Ireland title in 2016 and was Andy Moran’s right-hand man with the Leitrim senior football team more recently.

Philly Ryan is the New Tipperary Senior Football Manager

Former Tipperary goalkeeper Philly Ryan has become the new senior football manager of Tipperary. A Tipperary football committee confirmed the appointment this week.

Ryan is a former player, team manager, and current coach in the game.

Ryan played for the senior team from 1990 to 2003 and in 1995 helped Tipperary claim the All-Ireland Senior 'B’ title.

After his playing days came to an end, he became a selector with the Tipperary Under-21 team in 2005 and then became manager of the Tipperary Minor footballers in 2007 and 2008.

Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan Step Down from Tyrone Roles

Tyrone's joint senior football managers, Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan, are no longer co-managers of the county.

Both had two more years to complete their second three-year term but decided to take time to consider their futures and have now walked away.

The pair helped their native county land an All-Ireland title in 2021, but they couldn't follow up that success in the years after.

Tyrone GAA has claimed that they will now move to appoint a new senior football management team.

Former Fermanagh and Monaghan boss Malachy O’Rourke is a strong favourite to replace the pair.

Colm O'Rourke Steps Down as Meath's Senior Football Boss

Colm O'Rourke has left the Meath senior footballers after two years in the role.

O'Rourke had been expected to stay on, but that is not the case after the Meath County Board on Monday undertook a review of O'Rourke's performance.

O'Rourke was initially appointed on a three-year term in September 2022, replacing Andy McEntee.

John Gryphon Gets Kerry Hurling Gig

Former Kerry hurling captain John Gryphon replaces Stephen Molumphy as manager of the Kerry senior hurling team.

Gryphon, a Lixnaw native, is the first Kerryman to take charge of the county senior hurlers since Maurice Leahy, who left in 2007.

A player between 2006 and 2016, Gryphon helped the Kingdom win two Christy Ring Cups in 2011 and 2015 and was captain for the second.

One-time Kerry teammates Seán Maunsell and Aidan Healy will join his backroom team as selectors.

Darren Gleeson Takes Charge of the Laois Senior Hurling Team

Darren Gleeson will become the new manager of the Laois senior hurling team.

Gleeson is set to replace Willie Maher as the boss of the O'Moore County.

Gleeson was previously with the Antrim senior hurling team.

The Tipperary native guided Antrim to two Joe McDonagh Cup victories in 2020 and 2022, and they also managed to win a Division 2 League title in 2020.

During his time as a player, Gleeson won two All-Irelands, six Munster Championships, and one Allianz Hurling League with the Premier County.

Donoghue returns to Galway

Former Dublin manager and Galway native Micheál Donoghue will take charge of Galway's hurlers for a second time.

Donoghue was appointed on a four-year term at a meeting on Monday night.

The Clarinbridge narrative is best known for leading Galway to their last Liam McCarthy in 2017. They were unable to follow that up the year after

Donoghue left for Dublin and performed admirably in the role; however, he has now opted to take over from Henry Shefflin, who recently left
