Erling Haaland has been included in Norway's squad for the friendly against Ireland at the Aviva this month

MANCHESTER CITY GOAL MACHINE Erling Haaland has been included in Norway's squad for the trip to Dublin on the 17th of March.

Haaland has been a revelation in his debut season in England. He's scored 18 goals in 12 appearances in the league.

However the Norwegian picked up a foot injury while playing for City in the Premier League and has been left on the bench for two games.

Pep Guardiola speaking to the media today claimed that his starlet wasn't perfect, but also admitted that he wouldn't stop him for playing for his national team.

He is still not perfect still,” said Guardiola.

“We will see tomorrow and Saturday [ahead of the Premier League game against Brentford]. He is getting better.

“The main thing is the bone was not broken – the ligament is damaged a little bit, so he’s still not perfect right now.

“We will see [about playing for Norway against Ireland and Finland] - a week, ten days anything can happen," added the City boss.

“If he feels good, he will play for the national team - it is so important for the players.

“I never stop players playing for their national team.”

Despite his injury he's expected to play against Stephen Kenny's Ireland team this month.

His national team manager Ståle Solbakken has also spoken to the goal machine: "I spoke to Erling a few days ago at the latest - his physical situation as of now is a bit uncertain, but we have in no way given up on him taking part in at least one of these matches.

"Then we'll see how the situation is after City have played two more games. Erling himself wants to play for the national team, so if he is healthy and fast then he will play," says Solbakken,

Ireland's squad for the game against Norway and Malta on 20th of November will be announced in due course.
