FOUR ENGLAND fans who were filmed dancing on a London ambulance in the wake of the Three Lions' 2-0 quarter-final win over Sweden at last summer's World Cup have been charged with criminal damage.
Fans across the English capital took to the streets in the wake of the win and invaded shops like IKEA as part of a night of raucous celebrations that threatened to overshadow events on the pitch.
Unfortunately, in the case of one rapid response ambulance left parked near London Bridge, the joyous scenes on Saturday, July 7th came with consequences.
The emergency services vehicle had to be taken out of service for repairs after being left with a shattered windscreen and dents to the bonnet when fans climbed onto it to celebrate the victory.
It was an incident widely condemned on social media with ambulance chiefs drawing attention to the damage on Twitter.
"We're delighted with the result, but this has put a big dampener on the celebrations for us," a tweet read.
"While our officer attended a call nearby, this car was damaged in Borough High Street during the celebrations after the game - it's now off the road to be repaired."

Now a Scotland Yard spokesperson has confirmed that four individuals are to be charged over the incident.
"Detectives investigating a report of criminal damage after a London Ambulance Service vehicle was damaged in Borough High Street on Saturday, 7 July have charged four people," they said.
"Perry Kangyue Jian, 26, of Poplar, east London, Larissa Bell, 21, of East Kilbride, Glasgow, James Elton, 27, of West Hampstead, north west London, and Scott Dennett, 25, of Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, were charged with criminal damage via postal requisition.
"All four had previously been interviewed under caution."
The quartet will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court in south London later this month.
