RICHARD DUNNE took part in a practice match this morning at the end of Ireland's training session ahead of this week’s friendly against England.
The 33-year-old defender has not played a game all season for Aston Villa because of a persistent groin injury.
However he met up with his national squad ahead of Wednesday night's friendly at Wembley.
Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has already indicated that Dunne will not play against England, although the defender – who is rumoured to be let go by Aston Villa this summer – could face Georgia in a second friendly this Sunday.
Glenn Whelan and James McCarthy, who are both nursing injuries, also took part in training at Ireland's base at Watford FC's Training Ground in London Colney.
However, defender Marc Wilson, who also has a calf problem, did not.
