Dublin and Kerry supporters come to blows in ugly footage filmed at All-Ireland final

FANS OF Dublin and Kerry came to blows in ugly scenes playing out in the stands after the replay of the All-Ireland final on Saturday.

Supporters wearing the colours of the two teams traded punches in clashes that marred an otherwise enjoyable sporting contest.

The fight broke out in the wake of the Dubs securing their fifth consecutive title at Croke Park.

It took place on Hill 16, with as many as 20 GAA involved in the fracas, which saw angry words and punches thrown on both sides.

The ugly scenes unfolded despite the visible presence of gardai in close proximity.

Garda subsequently issued a statement stating that the incident was dealt with and the disagreement between the two sets of supporters reached a “peaceful conclusion”.

“An Garda Síochána are aware of an incident that took place after the match of Dublin v Kerry on Saturday 14th September, 2019 in the grounds of Croke Park,” they said.

“The incident was dealt with swiftly by members of An GS at the time and brought to a peaceful conclusion. No persons were injured and no arrests were made.”

The confrontations came after Dublin became the first team to ever lift five Sam Maguires in a row with victory by 1-18 to 0-15 against Kerry.
