Donald Trump reportedly ‘being lined up for shock WWE return’

DONALD TRUMP could be set for a sensational return to the world of wrestling with WWE reportedly lining up the President for an appearance.

According to a report from Sportskeeda, the Fox Network is hoping to recruit President Trump for a one-off appearance on the flagship weekly WWE show SmackDown Live.

The move comes after the US broadcast secured the rights to the show in a deal worth $1 billion.

Ahead of the show’s Fox debut this October, the programme’s makers are reportedly hoping to use WWE owner Vince McMahon’s strong links to Trump to secure a cameo.

A member of the SmackDown creative team told the news provider that a cameo for The Donald is already in the process of being written.

“Fox have asked for Trump so I’m trying to write something short and easy for him that makes him look good,” they said.

“Vince [McMahon] doesn’t like us to say anything bad about Trump so I’m just doing the best I can.”

Trump has made several cameo appearances on WWE over the years and was even inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2013.

A keen support of the wrestling giant, Trump previously hosted WrestleMania IV and V at Trump Plaza in New Jersey, while his most famous in-the-ring appearance came in 2007 in a hair vs hair match against McMahon.

The match saw Umaga and Bobby Lashley go head to head as representatives of McMahon and Trump.

Trump’s wrestler, Lashley, won, meaning McMahon had to have his head shaved by guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin.

A keen Republican, Vince McMahon’s wife Linda also works for Trump, serving as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration to the president.
