Davy Russell handed huge boost ahead of Grand National swansong

Davy Russell has been handed a huge boost of Grand National glory according to new research by BoyleSports that reveals his star sign is among the most successful in the famous race.

Russell’s star sign is Cancer, which has steered a Grand National horse to Aintree winners’ enclosure on six occasions since 1981, with no other star sign recording a better win-rate.

Russell, who is making his final Grand National appearance, was twice victorious on Tiger Roll and rides Galvin, currently a 20/1 chance in the Grand National Betting.

The stars also align for 2022 winner Rachael Blackmore, who is also a Cancer and receives a boost on her 20/1 mount Ain’t That A Shame.

The research reveals that Pisces and Scorpio have the worst returns with just one win each since 1981, bad news for 33/1 Coko Beach’s jockey Harry Cobden, who is Scorpio.

Celebrity astrologer Inbaal Honigman revealed that it is no surprise that Cancer and Taurus are often seen in the winners enclosure due to their affinity with animals and says Cancerians will be handed extra determination this Saturday.

‘Determination and power’ will be with animal-loving Cancer athletes on Grand National day

“It's clearly important to have a lovely bond between jockey and horse, and Cancer-born people are great animal lovers. Taurus-born athletes are similarly drawn to the animal kingdom" said Honigman

“On Saturday, 15 April 2023, there are a couple of signs that are luckier than others. The sign of Cancer is visited by the planet Mars on that day. It is a planet of determination and power. Cancerians, which are usually a very quiet sign, will be driven and motivated to win, so it's a particularly favourable day for a Cancer competing in an event.

“Winning jockeys have to be calm of body and mind, and not allow themselves to get overwhelmed by the occasion. It is no surprise that the two calmest signs in the Zodiac, Cancer and Taurus, have won more Grand Nationals than any other sign. Both are very empathetic star signs that don't really worry about winning, but rather about being excellent.”

Aries will be boosted by luck and generosity

“Aries will be successful on the day too - as it is visited by Jupiter, planet of luck and generosity. Aries is a strong and athletic sign and is used to winning, so it's coming in with a powerful attitude.

“This Grand National 2023 occurs on a very positive day in the astrological calendar. The main signs of the day are athletic Aries, powerful Taurus, competitive Gemini and calm Cancer. The race and the entire celebration around it will be peaceful and welcoming.”
