Crawford selects Ireland Under-21 squad ahead of Euro qualifiers

Republic of Ireland Under-21 manager, Jim Crawford, has selected his side for the U-21 Euro doubleheader against Turkey and San Marino next month.

A number of new faces have been called up to the first team. Six players are joining the Irish squad: Tyler Goodhram (Oxford United), Adam Murphy (St. Patrick’s Athletic), Alex Murphy (Newcastle United), Tony Springett (Norwich City), Owen Mason (Wexford), and Zak Gilsenan (Blackburn Rovers).

However, Ireland will be without their captain, Joe Hodge, who has been ruled out due to an injury sustained during Wolves’ Carabao Cup match against Blackpool this week.

Ireland will face Turkey on Friday, September 8th, at Turner’s Cross. They will return to the same venue the following Tuesday, September 12th, for the match against San Marino.

The squad will meet up on Sunday.
