Conor McGregor deserves UFC shares, says Sylvester Stallone

CONOR McGregor has made no secret of the fact that he wants to own shares in UFC, and it appears Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone agrees with the Irishman.

The Notorious has been badgering UFC chief Dana White about the topic but so far, his appeals have fallen on deaf ears.

White recently stressed that if McGregor wished to own a piece of the company where he made his name, he needs to cough up the dosh.

The Crumlin native announced his retirement from mixed martial arts back in March, but claimed he would be open to a return to the Octagon on the condition that he received shares in the organisation as a result.

Speaking about a potential fight with Donald Cerrone, McGregor said back in March: “If they want to push that, and I have no problem with pushing that, give me my rightful shares in the UFC company. That’s all I ask.”

In response, UFC supremo White was adamant that McGregor wasn’t entitled to any shares, stating: “If you want to own a piece of the company you have to put up the money to buy a piece of the company. That’s how it works.”

Sylvester Stallone however appears to have sided with McGregor, saying he’d be happy to give the former fighter some of his own shares - which he purchased back in 2016 when it was involved in a £4 billion takeover.

Asked by TMZ Sport if he would “give him a little piece of yours”, Sly’s response was: “Of course”.

McGregor was quick to take to Twitter to thank the Rocky Balboa star for his support.

Help from Stallone might not be McGregor’s only chance of shares in UFC however.

Late night talk-show host Conan O’Brien has offered to fight the 30-year old for his own shares. I don’t know about you, but our money’s on Notorious for that one!
