Conor McGregor delivers essential medical supplies to children's hospital in Dublin

CONOR MCGREGOR has personally delivered a shipment of essential medical equipment to a children’s hospital in Ireland.

The MMA star posted a series of pictures on Instagram chronicling the moment he handed over potentially life-saving supplies to Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

McGregor, 31, surprised staff with a morale-boosting visit that saw him adhere to the social distancing measures put in place by the Irish government.

His donations will provide a significant boost to the work of the Crumlin facility and its staff, who have continued to treat seriously ill children throughout this pandemic

“Drop off at Crumlin Children’s hospital today ❤️ @theblackforgeinn,” wrote alongside the image.

A divisive figure in Ireland prior to the pandemic, McGregor has emerged as a key celebrity figure in the fight against COVID-19.

The Irishman has already donated an incredible €1.3 million worth of personal protective equipment to hospitals all over the country.

That PPE has already begun to flood into hospitals across Ireland, prompting an outpouring of thanks to The Notorious for all of his support.

Mary Leahy, who founded Heroes Aid, the charity that helped orchestrate McGregor's contributions to the frontline of Ireland's battle against coronavirus previously praised his contributions.

“Your donation was a very welcome & positive contribution Conor,” she wrote on Twitter.

“It was certainly my 1st time ever having a role in spending a million. Hope it wont be my last!

“The hard work started many weeks ago... give a women €1.3 million to spend, she will do it easily...and wisely, esp when this donation from @TheNotoriusMMA was to equip frontline healthcare to fight Covid-19.

“From cardiac monitors, to oxygen concentrators, to face visors, masks, gowns, and the rest.”

More recently still, he handed over €20,000 to Claudine and Robbie Keane’s charity fundraiser for The Mater Foundation.

McGregor has also lent his support to the government calls urging the public to stay at home and save lives during the pandemic with a series of videos urging people across Ireland to stay strong.

“I want to call upon my people, the great people of Ireland, this fight needs us all, we are all in the red corner together awaiting the bell,” he told fans back in March.

So, let’s gather together and ring the bell ourselves, including the people of the rest of the world.

“True lockdown must begin, and it must begin now. A lockdown together, a lockdown united.”

Globally, McGregor also donated $1.3 million from sales of his Proper No Twelve Whiskey to first responder organisations all around the world.
