Conor McGregor ‘assault’ victim details his encounter with the Irishman

THE MAN who had allegedly his phone broken and stolen by Conor McGregor has offered up an account of his version of events.

McGregor was arrested by Miami police following an encounter with Ahmed Abdirzak, a UK man on holiday in Miami.

Speaking in a video posted online by TMZ, Abdirzak explained how he first spotted McGregor while out with friends at LIV nightclub on Sunday, March 10th.

"On the way out, we were just waiting on our vehicle from the valet... and as soon as we go pick it up, we see Conor McGregor,” he said.

“I try take out my phone, and as soon as I take out my phone McGregor was there, and he tried to come shake my hand...

"As soon as he came to shake my hand, he pulled me in, and he grabbed my phone and started smashing it. All his security guards literally surrounded me, pushing me out of the way."

Abdirzak goes on to claim a video of McGregor repeatedly stamping on the phone “will be released soon."

"Conor picked the phone up, put it in his pocket and laughed,” he says.

According to Abdirzak McGregor then got in a car and drove off, with a hotel manager then approaching him saying that he would be looked after.

McGregor was subsequently arrested for strong-armed robbery and misdemeanour criminal mischief.

The charges carry a hefty prison sentenice, with strong-armed robbery considered a second-class felony in Miami, which means it carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence.

McGregor has yet to make a formal statement on the charges though he did write on Instagram: "Patience in this world is a virtue I continue to work on. I love my fans dearly. Thank you all."
