Ireland's Aaron Connolly has moved from Championship side Sunderland to Millwall on a permanent deal.
The Irish forward has once again struggled to cement himself at a football club and has now opted to test his skills in London.
The Galway native made 11 appearances, three starts, and scored once for the Black Cats during his short spell.
Connolly has opened up about his past struggles with alcohol and thanked Kristjaan Speakman, Sunderland's chairman, for giving him a chance when most wouldn't or didn't.
“When I spoke to Kristjaan Speakman (sporting director), I just thanked him for the opportunity this club gave me when many others wouldn’t,” said Connolly in a statement.
“It is something I will never forget, and the love I felt from the fans, from my first interview to my final game, is something I will always be grateful for."
Connolly believes that now he has left Sunderland in a better place than when he arrived. He is now focused on getting the ball rolling.

“Physically and mentally, I leave Sunderland in a good place. I’m now ready to play games regularly, and I appreciate the club’s understanding in allowing me to pursue this opportunity.
“I wish everyone at Sunderland the best of luck for what I’m sure will be a memorable end to a great season.”
Millwall director of football Steve Gallen also added that he was delighted to bring Connolly to The Den. He believes that Connolly has a lot more to give, being only 24 years of age.
“We’re pleased to bring Aaron into the club,” said Gallen. “Aaron’s been a bit unlucky not to play more at Sunderland this season, but that has given us an opportunity to get him in.
“When Alex (Neil, manager) and I met him, we really liked his enthusiasm for what we want to do here.
“Still only 24, Aaron has a lot of experience for his age. He is at his best when running at defenders, and we hope he gets plenty of opportunities to do that with us.”
