Commons to stay with Celtic

KRIS COMMONS has inked a new deal with Glasgow Celtic and the 31 year old wants to win more trophies with the club.

Having scored 74 goals in 175 appearances for the Bhoys Commons is thrilled to remain at Parkhead.  “It feels awesome, it’s a great feeling," Commons told Celtic TV. "It’s a huge burden off my shoulders and I can concentrate on the proper stuff, playing football and winning trophies for this club.

“I am delighted and absolutely buzzing. It’s been a strange couple of months with all the speculation and now that’s been put to bed I can concentrate on football and trying to get this club trophies over the rest of the season, obviously more league titles, and it would be wonderful if we could add a few more cups to the cabinet.

"And when you think about Celtic it’s all about European football and if we can get in the Champions League next season and the year after, it would be a huge achievement.”

The upcoming glamour Europa League tie with Inter Milan is a challenge Commons is relishing.  “The Inter Milan will be a big draw, a full house at Celtic Park under the floodlights,” Commons said. “It’s always a magical experience and hopefully we turn up at that game give them a sense of what we are all about.

“It will be a great game to look forward to. We are still involved in all four competitions and hopefully we can have a very successful season.”
