CHRIS Hughton will be interviewed by West Brom next week for the managerial role, following the departure of Pepe Mel by mutual consent last week.
The former Ireland international has been out of work since being sacked by relegated Norwich City in April.
Hughton is still the bookie’s favourite to be named as West Brom’s number one, but he faces competition from Steve Bould, Tim Sherwood and Glenn Hoddle for the position.
Pepe Mel’s five-month stay at The Hawthorns came despite doing enough to maintain their place in the Premier League.
