CELTIC could be about to make Irish teenager Darragh Markey their first signing of the January Transfer Window.
The 18-year-old St Patrick’s Athletic midfielder will travel from Dublin to Glasgow this weekend for the Bhoys to take a closer look at his potential.
Gerry Carlile, who acts as Markey’s agent, told Press Association Sport: "He will go over for one day for a game. He will have a look at them and they will have a look at him.
"There are a lot of clubs interested in him. He is still a St Pat's player but we will see what happens."
Markey has played eight times for St Pat's, who finished fourth in the SSE Airtricity League First Division last season and is filmed scoring for the Under 19s against Sligo Rovers in the quarter-final of the Enda McGuill Cup above.
