CELTIC'S number one fan Jay Beatty is in the running to claim Scotland's January goal of the month.
The 11-year-old Armagh native came onto the pitch during half time of Celtic’s 2-0 win against Hamilton at New Douglas Park to score a goal in front of the visiting fans.
The young Hoops supporter, who has Down’s Syndrome, had also given Celtic an inspiring team talk before the match began.
Father Martin spoke of his delight at Jay’s name being chanted by the fans: “Today was something else and to have a whole stadium including the Hamilton fans chanting your son’s name will live with me forever.
“When Jay was born, we hoped and prayed that people would treat him with respect.
“Because of his love of the greatest club in the world, his life has become a dream come true. We thought 2014 was just amazing but today was something else.”
Jay’s love for his club became known worldwide at the end of last season, when a video of him and Georgios Samaras on Celtic’s league-winning lap of honour went viral.
